INFLUENCE OF TEAM-BASED LEARNING ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISION, KENYA
Abstract
The main objective of the study was to measure the influence of team-based learning on employee performance at Public Service Commission, Kenya Guided by the theoretical frameworks of Human Resource Management. This research employs a descriptive research design and targets a population of 205 individuals, encompassing management staff, supervisory staff, and support staff within PSC. Through stratified random sampling, a sample size of 102 was obtained. The primary data was garnered utilizing semi-structured questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted utilizing SPSS version 22, employing mean, frequency, and standard deviation as the principal descriptive statistics. Both descriptive and inferential statistical methods were utilized to elucidate the relationships between variables, with findings presented in tabular form. The results from regression analysis indicate a positive and significant influence of team-oriented learning measures on employee performance within the PSC of Kenya. In conclusion, the study affirms that, collaborative learning practices is pivotal and exert a significant positive impact on employee performance within the PSC, Kenya. The study concludes that Apprenticeship Standards positively and significantly influences employee performance at the public service commission of Kenya. In this regard such practices including having skills development, Apprenticeships typically involve hands-on learning and practical experience in a specific field or trade. This study further recommends that the Public Service Commission concentrate on Team-Based learning programs that guarantee that employees can associate with role models. Encourage diversity in team composition to promote a variety of perspectives and skills.
