Abstract
AbstractThe aim of this study is to seek to assess the influence of stakeholder involvement on performance of community-based projects in Garissa County. Stakeholder theory was the theoretical foundations anchored the variables of this study. A descriptive research design was utilized. The target population was 601 completed or ongoing community-based infrastructure projects according to Garissa CIDP. Project managers were the unit of observation in the study, serving as the source of the desired data. A 5-point Likert scale semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Prior to the primary study, a preliminary test was carried out with a sample of 18 participants. The tool for data analysis was the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 24 and the results obtained were presented using tables and figures. Regression results indicated that Stakeholder involvement positively and significantly influence performance of community-based infrastructure projects in Garissa County, Kenya. This study concludes that stakeholder involvement positively affect performance of community-based infrastructure projects in Garissa County Kenya and this effect is statistically significant. This study recommends there is need for county government Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders and keep them informed about relevant developments and decisions. Ensure that information is easily accessible and understandable, using plain language whenever possible.
